Inner monologue / email
The strange little discipline of building for inboxes
Email development is where beautiful ideas go to learn manners.
Every inbox has opinions. Some are modern, some are ancient, and some behave like they were designed during a thunderstorm. That is what makes email work weirdly satisfying.
You have to think visually, technically, and defensively at the same time. The job is not just to make something look good once. It is to make it survive Outlook, mobile screens, dark mode surprises, image blocking, and the thousand tiny ways a campaign can drift.
Done well, email feels simple to the reader and boringly reliable to the team sending it. That kind of invisible competence is underrated. I like work that holds together when nobody is watching.
